On a mission to revolutionise viticulture in one of the world’s most prestigious and historic wine regions, Château du Seuil believe that cleaner vineyards and organic wine are the future. Provenance is hugely important to the Bordeaux-based family-run estate, whose philosophy has always been to carefully cultivate fine wines that are a true expression of the famous French soil from which they came.

Husband and wife team, Sean (from New Zealand) and Nicola (from Wales), moved to France in 2001 to take over the winemaking château in Graves. Being part of such a famous region, they were keen to let the flavours of Bordeaux come through the wine by keeping chemical treatments in the vineyard to a minimum. By 2009 Château du Seuil was fully organic, allowing a distinct mineral character to develop in the wines from the ancient limestone terroir of the region.
In the Château du Seuil range you’ll find quality Cabernet, Merlot and Sauvignon blends with a New World twist. All the authentic flavours of Graves you’d expect, produced in a modern way. A stunning Semillon blend dessert wine to die for completes the lineup, with a delicate sweetness and crisp acidity unique to their vineyard.
After 200 years of winemaking, today’s Château du Seuil marks a new era of purified viticulture in a traditional, Old World region. The secret to Sean and Nicola’s greatness is their attention to detail in the vineyard, and we’re proud to have been working with them for over 14 years now. The organic approach to winemaking may be a new movement in today’s wine market, but it’s actually very similar to how viticulture looked many years ago. ‘Organics’ resembles the traditional methods winemakers used before chemical treatments became popular after the Second World War.
