On Thursday 3rd April, 50 Virtual Winemakers celebrated the completion of their Coeur du Ventoux wine at the exclusive launch party in London.
The event took place at Baranis, a Provençal Wine Bar, on Chancery Lane and Virtual Winemakers were welcomed with a refreshing glass (or two) of Prosecco. Once everyone had arrived and settled in, Virtual Winemakers heard short presentations from Jay, our CEO, and Marc Perrin, Export Director, at Famille Perrin who had flown in especially for the occasion. Marc spoke in more detail about the Famille Perrin winery, the stages involved in the making of the wine and the implication of the votes.
Then, it was the moment everyone had been looking forward to – time to unveil the Coeur du Ventoux. The wine was poured, many a sip was had and all 50 Virtual Winemakers raised a toast to their finished wine. (No one seemed disappointed which was a good sign!!)
For the rest of the evening, while the wine continued to flow freely, Virtual Winemakers had chance to chat to Marc and our team from Virgin Wines, play petanque on the UK’s only indoor court, try other wines from the Perrin range and enjoy assorted Provençal finger food.
This is the third time we have hosted the Virtual Winemaker project, with many of those taking part after being involved the previous year, so there were a number of familiar faces who joined us for the evening.
After a few hours, the party started to draw to a close. Judging by the number of empty bottles behind the bar, the wine went down extremely well. All in all, it was a really enjoyable evening and a great way for those involved in this year’s Virtual Winemaker project to come together and celebrate its success.
Here are a few photos from the evening.
